Crucial occupation? Then park for free

Do you have a crucial profession and cannot work from home? Then you can apply for a parking pass for the municipal parking garages or a parking permit to park on the street.

What is a crucial profession?

A crucial occupation is one that is necessary to keep society running. An overview of crucial occupations can be found at Rijksoverheid.nl.

Parking garage pass
You can apply for a pass for the following parking garages:

  • The Appalachian
  • Raaks
  • De Kamp
  • Wood Square
  • Dreef
  • Cronjé

You request a pass by sending an e-mail to central@spaarnelanden.nl with the following information:

  • Your first and last name
  • Your address information
  • Your phone number
  • Vehicle registration number
  • Statement from employer that you have a crucial occupation (max. 3 months old). This can be done with an email indicating your employer's employment and that you cannot use public transportation.
On-street parking permit

You can apply for temporary parking permits for the paid parking zones. You can find these districts on the parking zone map.

  • You apply for the temporary permit by sending an email to parkeervergunningen@haarlem.nl with the following information:
    First and last name
  • Vehicle registration number
  • Address information of the applicant
  • Statement from employer, that you are engaged in a crucial occupation according to the Central Government. An email will suffice.
  • Street name or area where you want to park the car
  • Your phone number

You can use the parking permit once you have received confirmation that the parking permit has been granted.
